Everyone Has a Rainy Day...

Hi Everyone,

In the midst of getting ready to head back to the East Coast to Newfoundland for my Mom's Family Reunion, I took some time today to get crafty.  I have so much to do and so very little time to do it in but seriously, who can resist taking a little time out to do what you enjoy??  Especially since I will be away from my crafty space for the next month!  Don't worry, I took some time to prepare and schedule blog posts so that I am able to keep up to date with you guys. :)

Today, I decided to play along with the GORGEOUS colour combination over at Colour Me...!  This week is Lost Lagoon (a new favourite of mine!), Island Indigo, Smoky Slate and a neutral.  Love it!

I also wanted to play along with the FABULOUS sketch over at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge:

Here is my card for these challenges:

If you are looking for the Island Indigo, both the sentiment and the umbrella are in that colour.  I just love this new Stampin' Up! Hostess Set - Life's Adventure - every image in there is just so darn cute!

Card Recipe:

Card Stock: Smoky Slate, Whisper White, Moonlight DSP Stack
Stamp Sets: Life's Adventure (Hostess)
Ink: Lost Lagoon, Smoky Slate, Basic Black, Island Indigo

Inspired by Hollywood

Hi Everyone!

This is my final card to share with you from my stamping session on the weekend.  I am really hoping that I have found my mojo - I seriously had forgotten just how much I enjoy making cards.

This particular card was inspired by Hollywood for me.  When I saw the sketch challenge from CAS - Colours and Sketches for this week, I have to admit, I was definitely perplexed.  I wasn't sure how I could make this one work.  But then I saw my On Film Framelits which had yet to come out of the packaging and I was set!

Here are the challenges that I am linking up to for this card:

1. CAS - Colours and Sketches

This week's challenge at Stampin' Royalty is "Anything Goes".

Wear Our Badge

This week's theme or "toppings" is "Stars and/or Stripes".

Here is my card:

Card Recipe:

Card Stock: Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Gold Glimmer Paper
Stamp Sets: And Many More
Ink: Versamark
Tools/Techniques: On Film Framelits, Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack, White Embossing Powder, Heat Tool

Happy Blooming Birthday!!

Hi Everyone,

Yes, yes, yet another post from my mega marathon crafting session.  As my friend noted on Saturday night, I think we are going to make this a monthly thing once the summer holidays are all out of the way.

I was so excited to be able to use new stamp sets and am so thankful to my friend for bringing all her new stuff along.  I haven't ordered the Flower Patch stamp set but to be honest, I have a feeling it will be making it's way to my home really soon!  I also love when a stamp set has a matching punch or framelits and the Flower Fair Framelits did not let me down!  My order does arrive tomorrow and I can't wait to share those new goodies with you!

So, which challenges did I focus on for this particular card you ask?  Here goes:

1. Fusion

I thought the sketch this week was super original...

2. Stampin' Royalty

This is a new challenge for me, I have never played along with these talented individuals.  I am super excited to do so!  This week's challenge is "Anything Goes".

Make a Wish - Maritime Style

Hi Everyone,

I need to do some more blog posts so that I can get all those cards up that I made during my wonderful crafting session over the weekend - I love those with good friends and a drinky-poo or two!

I am really in love with the Maritime DSP in the new catalogue so this card really focused on that.  As always, I incorporated a couple of challenges in order to find inspiration.

1. Freshly Made Sketches

Unfortunately, my timing was a little off with this post and I missed the deadline to link up to this challenge.  But, I used their sketch for inspiration and I love it!

I simply love this colour combination - so "Maritime" style.  I chose to do a "Clean & Layered" effect on this one - it's one of my favorite styles!

Here is my card:

Card Recipe:

Card Stock: Coastal Cabana, Real Red, Whisper White, Maritime DSP
Stamp Sets: Perfect Pennants
Inks: Basic Black, Real Red
Tools/Techniques: Basic Black Bakers Twine, Basic Metal Buttons, Banners Framelits

A Striking Combination

Hi again everyone!

As I mentioned earlier, I was so excited to play with a bunch of new stamp sets last night that my friend had brought over - I can barely wait to get my order on Tuesday and have even more new things to play with!

One of my favorite new sets is Bloom with Hope - it is truly a stunning and very versatile set so I was extremely excited to use it on this card.

I, ofcourse, got my inspiration from a couple of great challenges.

1. Colour Me...!

This week's colour combination was a "striking" one.  I, unfortunately, went by memory and instead of using Soft Sky, used Pool Party.  Oh well, close enough!

I loved this week's sketch and found it to be super versatile.

Here's my card:

Like I said, I really love this new stamp set and the sentiments that are in it are simply beautiful.

Card Recipe:

Card Stock:  Pool Party, Elegant Eggplant, Whisper White
Stamp Sets: Bloom with Hope
Ink: Pool Party, Elegant Eggplant
Tools/Techniques: Pretty Print Embossing Folder

Blended Bloom!

Hi Everyone!

Well last night I had an amazing evening of marathon crafting with a very special lady - we crafted till 3:00am!  Don't you just love it?!?!  We did, however, miss our 3rd partner in crime...  But, we focussed quite a bit on the new items from the new Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue.  I will have a few cards to share with you over the next few days.  :)

First off, last night I had my first chance to play with the brand new Stampin' Up! Blendabilities markers and can I just say, I am in LOVE!!!  These markers are alcohol based and are amazing for colouring!  I will definitely need more practice but I really feel that these will become a staple in my craft room - they will be on my next order for sure!

As always, I decided to play along with a few challenges - they always give me so much inspiration.

First, there was a great sketch over at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge and I thought it was a fantastic opportunity to use the new Blended Bloom stamp.

I decided to pair the sketch with the color challenge over at Pals Paper Arts:

07-10

Here is my card:

Card Recipe:

Card Stock: Daffodil Delight, Whisper White
Stamp Sets: Everything Eleanor, Blended Bloom, And Many More
Ink: Daffodil Delight Blendabilities Markers, Old Olive Blendabilities Markers, Night of Navy

A Blackberry Bliss Birthday!

Hi Everyone!

Hope the summer is treating you all wonderfully!

I have been dying to try out a bunch of new stuff from Stampin' Up! for some time now but just haven't had the mojo to do so but today was the day!  I decided to make a very simple card that could be replicated in any colour and would look great if one decided to make a few to give to a friend in a beautiful gift box or something similar.  The challenge over at Colour Me...! this week was a monochromatic one - to use the new In Colour - Blackberry Bliss.

Here is the card I designed, super simple:

The pictures actually don't do this beautiful colour justice at all...

Card Recipe:

Card Stock: Blackberry Bliss, Whisper White
Stamp Sets: Another Great Year
Inks: Blackberry Bliss
Tools/Techniques: Project Life Corner Punch, 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon - Blackberry Bliss
